Featured Indian Wedding : Genious & Neeraj II

When we get to feature a photographer for the first time on Maharani Weddings, I get giddy with excitement.  Chicago based photographer, Dawn E Roscoe, has quickly moved to the top of our favs list with her girl-y style and enthusiasm for Indian weddings.  She has a soft touch behind the camera that is totally romantic.  Take a look :

From the bride :

Before planning really began, we prioritized on what was the most important to them for their wedding day aside from getting married. They both agreed on venue, photography, décor, food and dj were the most crucial to making a wedding memorable.  I went the nontraditional route of selecting fuchsia and turquoise as her wedding colors instead of red. Wedding planning started with selecting the perfect wedding venue where family and friends would immediately say “This is so Genious and Neeraj” or at least “This is so Genious!”We were looking for a contemporary look and feel and of course that could accommodate 500 guests. After researching, they finalized on the Renaissance Hotel in Schaumburg, which definitely met their needs on the look of the “WOW” factor and capacity.  Then we trekked to India to do the shopping!  My mom and maternal uncle accompanied us. And, Neeraj had not been to India in over 25 years! That was an adventure in itself and we had to hit the ground running with only 2 weeks to shop. We spent a bit of time meeting each other's families, and made a trip to see Taj Mahal, which was unforgettable.  With 6 months left to plan, thousands of hours were spent on finalizing remainder of the details. We were on track of fulfilling our wedding dream!

More on the way!

Featured Indian Wedding : Genious & Neeraj Finale

I hate to say, I told you so, but I TOLD YOU SO.  This modern, Indian wedding has got us all wrapped up in fuchsia and turquoise, and I am a little said to say that we are at the reception finale.  Photographed by the awesome Dawn Roscoe, I love this bride’s gorgeous lengha, and the charming, elephant place card holders by Blue Rainbow Design.

So there is an unofficially wedding custom amongst brides.  It doesn’t matter what your race or religion, there is a little thing called the “Victory Lap.”  It’s the moment you have been waiting for, after months of planning, and you prance into your reception as the new Mrs!  Trust me, it is the most indescribable fun you will ever have.  If you are hesitant to believe me, take a look at this bride’s expression.

From our bride :

Unbelievable!!!!  All the stress and anxiety of the day melted as soon as we lined up to enter the reception.  It was so exciting to be surrounded by our family and friends cheering us on. We danced the night away and it was all over too soon. We definitely had a night to remember…our family and friends still talk about how it was the best wedding they have ever attended. We had our dream wedding of the perfect place and decorations. It looked like a fairy tale.  We had the best music, food and of course, the best photographer who worked with us to captured it beautifully and elegantly. She rolled with the punches and helped wherever she could.

Congratulations to the fabulous couple and big thank you to all the vendors who made their fairytale come true!
